Company Policy

The Internet is a powerful tool for both information and entertainment.
We would expect our customers to use the Internet responsibly with respect
and courtesy, giving due regard to the rights of other Internet users.

Acceptable Usage Policy:

The following acceptable usage policy is actively and strictly enforced by Hostingireland. And offending content and offending users will be removed from our network as soon as they are discovered. We will always inform the offender to explain why action has been taken, but as the onus is on the offender to comply, compensation will always be at the discretion of Hosting Ireland.
Please note that Unacceptable Subjects are emboldened in the following text.

Illegal or Litigious Content Policy.

Any form of illegal, potentially libelous or defamatory content or activity including, but not limited to:

• The unauthorised distribution, or copying, of copyrighted software;
• Corrupting images or other data;
• Harassment;
• Fraud;
• Trafficking in obscene material;
• Trafficking in illegal substances.

Undesirable Content.

Certain types of content are not allowed on our network.

We do not host:

• Web sites with Adult content of any description;
• Web sites portraying gratuitous violence of any description;
• Web sites containing or promoting extreme political material;
• Web sites containing any religious material or supporting any religion;
• Web sites containing any occult material;
• Web sites relating to Hacking, Cracking, Warez, IRC or similar;
• Software downloads may only be hosted if the website owner is the writer and copyright owner of the software - this would need to be verified before being made accessible on the site;
• All other software including freeware, shareware and trial software is forbidden;
• Audio, video, MP3 and other downloads may only be hosted if the website owner is the writer, creator and copyright owner of the work.

Bulk Email

The use of our network to send bulk email, and the use of bulk email to promote a site on our network is strictly forbidden.

Misuse of Resources.

Applications that we do not allow on our network include, but are not limited to, are:

• Applications that consume excessive CPU time, memory or storage space;
• Chat/IRC, web proxy and mailing list scripts under any circumstances;
• Streaming media as it can be a drain on web server resources;
• CGI based message forums which use flat file databases;
• PHP/ASP message forums are permitted.

If you are unsure whether the content you intend to place on our network is acceptable, please check with us before you add it. We reserve the right to determine what constitutes acceptable use.

Overuse Policy:

Because we provide low priced Internet Services, any overuse of contracted allowances would mean that we rapidly lose money. The following overuse policy will therefore be strictly followed.

Upgrade

• An upgrade to a higher specification account may be required if more disc space is used than the original contract plan permits;
• Free transfer to a higher plan is available at any time;
• The price difference between the current plan and the new hosting plan will be payable immediately;
• At the original contract plan anniversary date, the annual renewal fee will be charged at the new hosting plan rate.

Bandwidth

Excess bandwidth usage over the original contract plan quota will be charged at € 0.50 + VAT per 100MB/month (or part of a month) unless otherwise agreed. Any delay in this payment may result in account suspension.
